About Dr. Jarrod Steffan
Dr. Steffan is a Licensed Psychologist in Kansas and Missouri. He earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University and completed an accredited internship in forensic and clinical psychology at the Oklahoma Forensic Center and Oklahoma Department of Corrections. After receiving his doctoral degree, Dr. Steffan sought further specialized training in forensic psychology through a postdoctoral fellowship within the Department of Forensic Services at Western Missouri Mental Health Center (now the Center for Behavioral Medicine) and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr. Steffan has experience in providing forensic and clinical psychological services through his past work in forensic clinics and hospitals, prisons, and inpatient and outpatient mental health agencies in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Dr. Steffan has maintained a private practice in forensic and clinical psychology since 2007. He has focused his practice on providing expert testimony, evaluations, and consultation for attorneys and courts in criminal, civil, and sexually violent predator proceedings. Lawyers often request Dr. Steffan to testify in these cases.
Dr. Steffan has conducted research, published peer-reviewed articles, and presented seminars in the areas of psychological assessment and forensic psychology. He has been a member of the Forensic Subcommittee of the Kansas Governor’s Mental Health Services Planning Council and the Forensic Psychology Committee of Psychologists in Independent Practice (Division 42 of the American Psychological Association [APA]). He also has served on local human service and criminal justice committees. Dr. Steffan’s clinical, civic, and scholarly activities have been recognized through awards bestowed by the American Psychology-Law Society (Division 41 of APA), Psychologists in Public Service (Division 18 of APA), and American Academy of Forensic Psychology.
